Hiring: Who, what and how?

Contracting is one of the most used procedures for the Administration’s work and for providing all kinds of goods and services to the citizens. Among others, there is contracting of basic goods (medicines, food, materials…), services (cleaning, security, maintenance…), constructions (hospitals, roads, schools, ports…), public services management (school transport, retirement homes, telecommunications…). More than 50% of the contracts money is awarded by open procedures. There is also framework agreements, negotiated agreements and other procedures.

To have public information on who contracts, what, how and who is contracted, and the cost of the contracts is a right of the citizens, as well as a requisite for the trust in the Administration management and a weapon to avoid corruption.
